It's physical work

You'll be moving, lifting, going up and down stairs, climbing in and out of trucks. Some days you might swing a sledgehammer in a hot backyard. Other days you might help lift a 500 pound soda machine out of a gas station. Other days you might be in a temperature controlled house in Westlake moving furniture. At all times though…we're moving.

It's rewarding work

We're often meeting people at a low point of their week, month, or life. Sometimes we're clearing a home after the death of a loved one. Other times we're carrying out a court-ordered eviction with tenants or children who don't want to leave their home.

It's not a typical desk job

If you're looking for something low-effort or predictable every single day, this probably isn't it. Every day is different, and everyone on our team is expected to be able to adapt according to the situation.

The work can get messy

Clearing out flooded basements, removing fence panels and posts in the rain & mud, cleaning out a hoarder home, tearing down old garages. These don't happen every day, but you should expect that you're going to get dirty at some point.

Schedules can vary

Our business is built around solving problems for our customers, and those problems don't always fit into a neat schedule. Most of our team are married, or have children or have other meaningful family commitments. We value peace at home as much as we do peace in the field so we aim not to burden anyone with regular long hours. Most days we start at 8:30 and finish between 4–5. Certain projects may require pushing a bit later on hours, or getting an earlier start to get to a jobsite in time.

It's physical work

If you hate sitting still, you'll probably enjoy this. Your cardio will improve, your endurance will increase, and your body will tone. You'll have regular breaks while driving in between jobs, once you arrive though there's no desk to sit at…you're moving.

We're often meeting people at a low point of their week, month, or life. Somebody has to do the work. Somebody has to pack up a child's belongings or load a lifetime worth of memories into a truck. Why not us? We get the privilege of being the ones who choose to do it, to do it well, with joy, and with compassion for our customers and their life situation. If you care about caring for people in their low moments, this will be a good place for you.

You'll be part of a strong team

We work hard, support each other, and do our best to focus on the good, beautiful, and true of each situation. We build around the unique giftings and talents everyone brings to the table. One ran their own masonry business, others spent decades in commercial renovation & plumbing, others spent years in corporate customer service or sales. We teach each other what we know and get better as a collective group. Everyone notices when one person isn't carrying their weight — because of that you can count on us to speak honestly & hold each other accountable to a higher standard. We'll win together or we'll lose together, but whatever we do, we do it as a team.

You see real results every day

Some days it's as simple as watching a cluttered garage become usable again. Other days we're clearing storm damage or cleaning up a hoarder situation and enabling a family to move back into their home. Other times we're gutting an entire bathroom and leaving a blank slate for the homeowner or contractor to rebuild. Whatever it is that we're doing, you finish the day knowing exactly what you accomplished — and it's satisfying work.

There's room to grow

We're growing across both Fly By and our sister companies, which means opportunities to move up, take on more influence over others, and lead. We have duties & tasks that we need filled today. But we also take seriously our responsibility to create more opportunities for anyone who is with us.
