Nobody searches this question on a good day. You’re standing in a garage that has quietly become a museum of things you swore you’d fix, and your wallet has already started bracing.

| Small load | A few items | $150 to $250 |

Prices from Fly By Junk Haulers, October 2026. Your exact quote depends on the factors below.
Five things move the number, and none of them is how much you like the couch.
More stuff takes more truck space and more crew time. This is the big one.
Heavy and bulky items cost more to haul and dispose of.
Stairs, long carries and tight parking add labor. A basement full of boxes costs more to empty than the same boxes sitting in a driveway.
Hazardous materials, bed bugs, roaches and general unpleasantness add risk and labor, so they’re priced in. Tell us up front so your quote covers them.
A shed, a deck or a hot tub is demolition work as well as hauling, so it’s priced as both.
Sometimes, and it depends on who’s doing the lifting. A dumpster rental from us is priced by location, and it comes with a rental period of up to 7 days and a weight allowance (2 tons on a 20-yard, 4 tons on a 40-yard). Then you fill it yourself.
A partial load handled by a crew is $300 to $600 on our price list, and nobody in your family has to carry a dresser down the basement stairs. If you have a big renovation, a dumpster makes sense. If you have a lot of stuff and a bad back, hire the crew.
The fear we hear most is a quote that grows on the day. It’s a reasonable fear, and it usually comes from someone quoting a pile they never saw. We give free estimates, and the easiest way to avoid a surprise is to show us everything that’s going, including the closet you were hoping to skip.
A customer put it this way in a Google review: “He was great with communicating the service, arranging the pickup, providing a fair quote and checking in as it got closer to my removal date.” (Faye N., February 2026.) That’s the standard to hold any company to, us included.
Get a free estimate before anything gets loaded, and confirm the number in writing. Tell the company what’s going, where it’s sitting, and whether there are stairs. The more of the job you describe, the less room there is for a surprise. Showing us the back of the closet isn’t a confession. We’ve seen closets. We’re not scoring them.
A small load, a few items, typically runs $150 to $250 with Fly By Junk Haulers.
A full garage or basement cleanout typically runs $800 to $1,600, depending on how full it is and how hard it is to reach.
Whole-house and estate cleanouts typically run $1,500 to $7,000 or more. The range is wide because houses are. We quote after we know what’s inside.
For one or two rooms of stuff, a crew at $300 to $600 is often the better deal once you count your own time and the dumpster rental. For a big renovation you’ll fill it yourself anyway, so the dumpster usually wins.
