KEPT OUT OF LANDFILLS

One Crew From Cleanout to Cleared Lot

Taking a house down is mostly paperwork and phone calls. The demolition itself typically takes 2 to 3 days on site for an average house. The permit, the utility shutoffs and sometimes an asbestos inspection come first, and we walk you through each one.
Some of our demolition customers inherited a property or bought the empty lot next door, and some live out of state. If the house is still full, we clear it first and then take it down, so you deal with one company from start to finish.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a house demolition take?

An average 1 or 2 family house typically takes 2 to 3 days on site. Permits, inspections and utility shutoffs come first, and they vary by city and utility. The full timeline is in our guide: how long a house demolition takes.

Usually, yes. Your city or township issues it, and the steps differ by place. Call your building department first, and tell us what they say so we can plan around it.

Ohio has asbestos rules for demolition. A certified third-party asbestos specialist inspects the building before work begins, and notice goes in at least ten working days before a covered demolition starts. We don’t do the survey or asbestos removal ourselves, but we partner with companies who do. Whether your house falls under those rules depends on the property, so ask your city or Ohio EPA.

Yes. Water, sewer, gas and electric have to be disconnected and capped before the house comes down, and the utility companies work on their own schedule. It’s a common reason a start date moves, so we ask about it at the site visit.

House demolition is quoted on site, because every lot and structure is different, so we don’t list a price here. The size of the house, the basement, any garage or outbuildings, what’s still inside and how easy the lot is to reach all move the number. A free site visit gives you the price.

Yes. We handle cleanouts and demolition, so one crew can do both. See our estate cleanouts.
