Ever wonder where your junk goes after our truck pulls away? Most people assume it all goes straight to the landfill — but that’s not how we operate. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at our sorting, donation, and recycling process.
Step 1: On-Site Sorting
Our crew begins sorting at your property. Items that are clearly in good condition — furniture, appliances, electronics, clothing — are set aside for donation. This happens before anything goes in the truck.
Step 2: Donation Drop-Off
Usable items are delivered to local donation partners including Habitat for Humanity ReStores, Goodwill, and other Northeast Ohio charities. Furniture and appliances in working condition get a second life rather than ending up in a landfill.
Step 3: Recycling
Metals, electronics, cardboard, and other recyclable materials are separated and taken to certified recycling facilities. Electronics go to e-waste recyclers who handle proper disposal of hazardous components. Scrap metal is sold to local recyclers.
Step 4: Responsible Disposal
What can’t be donated or recycled goes to licensed disposal facilities. We work with facilities that comply with all local, state, and federal regulations. Appliances containing refrigerants are handled by certified technicians.
Our Commitment
We aim to divert at least 60% of every load from the landfill through donation and recycling. It’s better for the environment, better for the community, and it’s the right thing to do.
